While kids color, ask, 'What did Noah have to do to prepare for the flood?' Highlight how he followed God’s instructions. This could lead to a discussion on obedience. Have crayons ready for a quick coloring session, and consider a follow-up craft where they create their own ark with paper.

More about these Bible coloring pages

While we colored, I reminded the class of how the rain fell and 'for forty days the flood kept coming on the earth' (Genesis 7:17). They loved the image of Noah leading the animals two by two into the ark. Each child had their favorite animal to color, from lions to elephants. I keep a copy of this great flood coloring page in my Sunday school binder, so I can pull it out for any lesson on faith and God's promises. The images are simple enough for my younger students but detailed enough to engage the older ones too. It's a great way to reinforce the story while allowing kids to express their creativity.
