About this Bible story

In this story from 1 Kings 3:9, two mothers came to King Solomon, both claiming to be the mother of a baby. Solomon used his wisdom to find the true mother. He suggested splitting the baby in two! But the real mother immediately offered to give up her claim to save her child.

β€œGive your servant a discerning heart.”

β€” 1 Kings 3:9 (NIV)

More about these Bible coloring pages

When my son Jason colored the Solomon's Wisdom Two Mothers Baby Court page, he was really curious about the story. I reminded him how King Solomon asked for a 'discerning heart' (1 Kings 3:9) to solve the dispute between the two mothers. The images show Solomon's wise decision, the two mothers, and the baby, which made it easy for him to understand.Β  At our last homeschool group, we printed this coloring page to reinforce the lesson. As the kids colored, we discussed how Solomon’s wisdom teaches us to be kind and fair. I loved seeing their faces light up as they connected the story to their own lives. If you're looking for a meaningful activity, this free printable is a great choice!
