How to Use These Coloring Pages

While the kids color, ask them, 'Why do you think the people were so happy to see Jesus?'. Highlight the moment when they laid down their cloaks, as it shows respect and joy. Have crayons ready and consider following up with a simple craft where they create their own cloaks out of paper!

More about these coloring pages

During circle time last week, we colored the Bible donkey coloring page for preschool, and my 4-year-olds loved it! They were especially excited about the part where 'they brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them' (Matthew 21:7). We discussed how Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem. Each of the 6 images captures a different moment from the story, including the joyful crowd and the cloaks laid on the ground. I had crayons ready for the kids, and they enjoyed picking their favorite colors. As they colored, I asked them what they think it felt like for the donkey to carry Jesus. It was heartwarming to see their little faces light up with joy and curiosity!
