How to Use These Coloring Pages

While the kids color, ask them, 'Why do you think Peter denied Jesus?' Highlight how Jesus knew Peter would struggle, which helps kids relate to their own challenges. This activity works well with colored pencils or crayons, and can take about 30 minutes.

More about these coloring pages

During our Sunday school class, I brought out the Bible Rooster coloring pages and the kids were eager to start. They loved the images of the rooster alongside Peter, especially as we discussed how Jesus predicted Peter's denial. 'Before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times' (Mark 14:30) really hit home. My 8-year-old was particularly fascinated by the detail in the rooster's feathers. We colored while talking about how we can learn from Peter's mistakes. It’s a great way to tie in art with a powerful lesson. The children were able to express their creativity while reflecting on the story. I keep a printed copy in my Sunday school binder for future classes. It’s a wonderful tool for reinforcing the lesson.
